## Purpose

Get a quick profile of a sitemap or sitemap index: how many entries it lists, which hosts and sections they belong to, how deep the paths go, how many repeat, and how many carry a lastmod date.

## How to use this tool

1. Paste your sitemap XML or open an .xml file from your device.
2. Choose Analyse sitemap. Everything runs in your browser.
3. Review the summary, then copy or download the report.

## Limits and what to check

It runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Each sitemap is limited to 2 MB and 50,000 entries, and larger input is refused rather than cut short. The figures describe the file you supplied only. They do not show which pages exist, are crawled or are indexed.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does the report measure?

Only what is written in the sitemap you supply: URL and host counts, top sections, path depth, query strings, duplicates and how many entries have a lastmod date. It does not visit any URL.

### Does sitemap analytics upload my file?

No. The analysis runs in your browser and nothing is sent to AI Smarty. Files and pasted text are limited to 2 MB and 50,000 entries.

### Can I analyse a sitemap index?

Yes. An index is profiled by the child sitemap addresses it lists. The child files are not fetched.

### Does the analysis show which pages are indexed?

No. It describes only what the file lists. Use Google Search Console to see indexing status.
