## Purpose

Build a lead scorecard your team can apply consistently. The result covers weighted criteria for fit, need, timing, budget and authority, the questions to ask, score bands with next actions and automatic disqualifiers.

## How to use this tool

1. Describe what you sell, who your best customers are and any clear poor fit signs.
2. Choose your main lead source and scoring scale, then generate the scorecard.
3. Test the scorecard on recent leads and adjust the weights before your team uses it.

## Example inputs

- What you sell: Commercial cleaning contracts for offices from 2,000 to 20,000 sq ft in Greater Manchester. Contracts start at £800 a month with a 12-month minimum.
- Your best-fit customers: Office managers at firms with 20 to 200 staff who want a weekly or daily clean, need cleaning outside working hours and are unhappy with their current provider.
- Poor fit signs: One-off cleans, sites outside Greater Manchester, budgets under £800 a month.
- Main lead source: Website enquiry form
- Scoring scale: 100 points

## Limits and what to check

The scorecard is based only on what you describe and invents no customer data or conversion rates. Criteria use business information, never personal or protected characteristics. Calibrate the weights against recent won and lost leads.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does the scorecard measure?

Business fit, need, timing, budget and decision authority, weighted for your offer. Each criterion has points, the questions to ask and the evidence to look for.

### Does it score people on personal characteristics?

No. Criteria use business facts a lead shares with you. The scorecard does not use or infer age, gender, ethnicity, religion, health or other protected characteristics.

### Which point scale should I choose?

A 100-point scale gives finer weighting across criteria. A 10-point scale is quicker to use on calls and in simple CRM fields.

### How do I check the scorecard is fair and accurate?

Score a handful of past won and lost deals with it. Adjust weights and thresholds until high scores match the deals you actually won.
