# Google Docs to FAQ generator

Paste a public Google Docs link and create an FAQ grounded in the shared document.

## Purpose

Create an FAQ from a Google Doc your team already maintains, such as onboarding notes, a service description or a process guide, without downloading or copying the text first.

## How to use this tool

1. Share the document so anyone with the link can view it, then paste the link.
2. Complete verification and choose Prepare source to read the document text.
3. Set the number of questions and topics, generate the FAQ and review it before use.

## Limits and what to check

The document must be shared so anyone with the link can view it. Only the current text is read, up to 250,000 characters. Comments, suggestions and linked files are not included, so review the answers against the live document.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why does my document not load?

The document must be viewable by anyone with the link. Documents that need a Google sign-in, restricted sharing or organisation access cannot be read.

### Are FAQ answers from a Google Doc always correct?

No. The AI model is instructed to use only the shared document text and to flag gaps, but it can still make mistakes. Check every answer before publishing.

### Is my Google Doc changed or stored?

The document is only read. Its text is kept for one hour of inactivity so you can generate again, and Start over deletes it at once.

### Can I use a Google Doc with tabs or comments?

The public export of the document is read. Comments and suggestions are not used, and content outside the exported view may be missing.
