## Purpose

Check whether an AI answer is backed by a source. Paste the source and the answer separately. Each claim in the answer is labelled supported, unsupported or not enough evidence, with an exact quotation from the source where one applies.

## How to use this tool

1. Paste the source text the answer should rely on.
2. Paste the AI answer separately, then choose Generate.
3. Review each claim label and the quoted source passage before correcting the answer.

## Example inputs

- Source text: Bookings can be moved up to 24 hours before the appointment using the confirmation link. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged at 50%.
- AI answer to check: You can move your booking up to 24 hours before, using the link in your confirmation email. Late cancellations are free for first-time customers.

## Limits and what to check

The check is limited to the source you paste, up to 12,000 characters, and an AI checker can mislabel claims. Confirm each quotation appears in your source. A supported label does not prove the source itself is accurate.

## Frequently asked questions

### What do the labels mean?

Supported means a quoted passage from your source states the claim. Unsupported means the source contradicts it or does not contain it. Not enough evidence means the source is related but does not settle the claim.

### Does a fully supported result prove the answer is correct?

No. The check only compares the answer with the source you paste, and the checker itself can make mistakes. If the source is wrong or out of date, a supported claim can still be wrong.

### What should I paste as the source?

The exact text the answer should rely on, such as the policy or knowledge base entry. The checker is instructed to compare claims only with that text.

### How do I fix an unsupported claim?

Either remove the claim from the answer or add the missing fact to your source, then check the revised answer again.
