## Purpose

Estimate whether an AI agent pays for itself. Enter conversation volume, the share it could resolve, staff minutes per conversation, staff cost and AI agent costs to see time saved, net monthly saving, payback and first-year return.

## How to use this tool

1. Enter your monthly conversations and the share of routine questions an AI agent could resolve.
2. Add the staff time each conversation takes and your hourly staff cost.
3. Enter the monthly and setup cost to see net saving, payback and first-year return.

## Limits and what to check

Hours saved equal conversations × resolvable share × minutes ÷ 60. Saving equals hours × hourly cost, minus the monthly AI agent cost. Payback divides setup cost by net monthly saving. First-year return is (net monthly × 12 − setup) ÷ (monthly cost × 12 + setup). Quality, oversight and handover time are not included.

## Frequently asked questions

### How should I estimate the share an AI agent could resolve?

Review a sample of recent conversations and count those answered entirely from information you already publish, such as hours, prices and policies. Use a cautious figure.

### How is the payback period worked out?

The one-off setup cost is divided by the net monthly saving, which is staff time saved minus the monthly AI agent cost.

### Does the AI agent ROI result guarantee savings?

No. Every figure comes from the assumptions you enter, so the result is a scenario rather than a forecast or benchmark.

### Are my ROI inputs uploaded?
